Permit To Work
At the core of P2W is a state-of-the-art Authorisation Engine. This supports
a wide range of authorisation processes, including Permit To Work (PTW).
You can configure P2W to implement your PTW process through:
- Permit Customisation: you can define permit
types to meet your requirements, using P2W’s online editor.
- Flexible Authorisation: This could include signs
offs for Security, Competent Persons, Authorised Persons, Isolation
Authority, Fire Master etc.
- Checklists: define your own checklists for each
sign off, to ensure that the right people take the right actions at
each stage. Checklists can also help you capture the data you need,
using our Flexi-Form technology.
- Roles: once you have assigned roles to staff
members, each one can handle the duties associated with the role:
for example, any member of staff designated as an Authorised Person
(AP) can perform the AP sign-off if desired. This simplifies your
administration while maximising your flexibility.
- Configurable Printing: you have complete freedom
to configure the selection of what information appears in printed permits
and the format used. This avoids the need for pre-printed stationery yet
gives you a consistent and flexible result.
- Process Management: you can plan and manage both
resources and jobs with P2W. It has several process management screens
that support these tasks, including Daily Planning Meeting View
and View All Permits.
Risk Assessment
P2W offers you multiple ways to capture Risk Assessments:
- Attached as external documents, such as those produced
by a contractor.
- Created as a series of configurable checklists, using our unique Flexi-Form technology.
- Developed online by selecting appropriate hazards
and associated controls from the P2W Hazard Register. This also supports
team-based risk assessments, escalation to higher authority, assessment of
each activity within the task, and the use of a risk evaluation matrix.
Isolation Management
The P2W Isolation module provides:
- Master Isolations.
- Isolation certificate.
- Multiple Isolation Points (IPs) per Isolation Certificate.
- Support for all types of IPs.
- Control links with permits, preventing them from being
issued until all isolations are in place. It also prevents IPs
being removed while the permit is live. This includes full support
for Sanction To Test.
- Our Register mechanism also supports the creation of
registers to suit your own requirements, e.g. one for Long
Term Isolations, one for Broken Flanges etc. The Register
mechanism supports reviews, which means you can define the
LTI register to prompt for reviews every X weeks or months.
- Full support for printing of IP lists and tags, with
the ability to reprint without automatic renumbering to
preserve work already carried out.
- Role based control over competencies required to implement
different types of IP, e.g. Mechanical competencies, Electrical
competencies, Process competencies.
Contractor Management
P2W has extensive facilities to help you manage the activities of your
contractors. These include controlling access to your sites,
monitoring their activities while on site, and ensuring all permits
have been properly closed off before they can leave.
The system covers:
- The roles of contractors.
- The sites at which operate and their designated roles at those sites.
- The services they can provide at each site.
- The insurances held by the contractor company.
- The certifications held by the company's staff.
- Their Health and Safety statement and procedures.
P2W also provides support for:
- Management of the review process for the H&S policy
from a contractor company.
- Monitoring the performance of contractors as they perform
work on your site(s).
Access Control
P2W has an optional FrontDesk module for controlling the
access of people to and from sites. FrontDesk distinguishes between
people coming on site for work (contractors), those coming on site for
other reasons (visitors) and those who work for the company that manages
the site (staff).
FrontDesk identifies who is on site at any time
(for situations such as fire evacuations), and for doing searches and
reports. The module is useful for receptionists, who can use it to control
access by visitors; security guards, who can control access to a site;
and the permit office, to record access by contractors working on permits.
